Sydney Sleep Centre has partnered with SHUTi (Sleep Healthy Using The Internet), an online cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) program, to provide patients with a convenient, cost effective and proven treatment for insomnia. This program will assist all patients with insomnia to better treat the underlying causes of their conditon and to treat their insomnia without medications. CBT for insomnia provides the best results for the long term. If your GP or Specialist has recommended that you use this program, you can access it using the links below:
1) first pay for the program ($225) using either the Paypal "Buy Now" link or by clicking and checking out via the link - "Pay for Code Online" at Sydney Sleep Centre below.
2) once you have paid for your program, you will be emailed a SHUTi Registration code (SHUTi Professional, 26 week program) by Sydney Sleep Centre staff.
3) with the code, click this SHUTi link, enter the code and start the program!

There are 6 Core Learning and Strategy Sessions. These include establishing personal goals for the program, sleep restriction, stimulus control, cognitive restructuring, improving environmental and lifestyle habits, and relapse prevention. Patients spend 30-45 minutes each week to complete one of the 6 Cores. Each day patients also submit a Daily Sleep Diary which is analysed. The program can be completed in as little as 6 weeks, but the subscription through Sydney Sleep Centre allows 26 weeks to proceed at a relaxed pace. Cognitive Behavioural Therapy for insomnia is also available at Sydney Sleep Centre through our Clinical Sleep Psychologist. This is one-on-one individual assistance and therapy on site at Sydney Sleep Centre. Some patients may prefer this or may move up to this after completing the SHUTi online CBT program. Patients who do not improve with the online CBT program should return to their referring doctor, and/or see a Sleep Specialist Physician or Clinical Sleep Psychologist for further assessment and management.
